PROGRAM FOR 2020–2021

EDUCATION PROGRAM:

This initiative targets 163 children aged 7 to 17 in 5 villages. Five teachers will teach various subjects in two sessions: 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.

Children need to receive education at home due to school closures and frequent absenteeism caused by discrimination from higher castes.

Annual budget: €1,280, distributed as follows:

  • Salaries of five teachers: €13 per person per month (€780 per year)
  • Supplies: €500 per year

GOAT PROGRAM:

Ongoing for several years, this program continues in 11 villages. 150 women will each receive a goat.

Owning a goat provides income through:

  • Meat sales: €55 for 5kg, €162 for 15–20kg
  • Cheese sales: €5.50 per kg

Total budget: €7,600

  • Purchase: €50 per goat (€7,500)
  • Negotiation and delivery fees: €100

COW PROGRAM:

Started in 2019; five cows were provided on micro-credit to five women. Milk sales generate about €0.50 per liter (~€3.50/day).

We plan to provide 15 cows on micro-credit to 15 women across 15 villages. These women aim to establish a dairy business selling milk and butter. Each cow costs €450; total budget: €6,800.
