During the Order of Saint Gabriel’s gala evenings in 2012 and 2013, a raffle was held to raise funds for the association Le Huitième Jour. Its purpose is to provide all means useful for the development of adults with Down syndrome and young adults with mild or moderate intellectual disabilities. To this end, it has four houses located in the Brussels region that perfectly meet the concept of integration into society, thus allowing people with disabilities to choose their lifestyle and develop independently, in complete safety and with the active support of able-bodied people living in the same building. The support provided by the Order of Saint Gabriel has notably been used to carry out activities organized within the adapted infrastructures or to acquire equipment.
