Ordre de Saint-Gabriel

On March 5, 2014, Knight René Muller, Commander of the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint Gabriel, traveled to the political capital of Côte d’Ivoire, Yamoussoukro, to meet with the leadership of Saint Joseph Moscati Hospital at the request of the Grand Master of the Order, His Excellency Roland de Boutechoux de Chavanes, Consul of Côte d’Ivoire in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Head of the Mother-Child Project at this institution, he is responsible for developing exchanges between our two institutions.

Saint Joseph Moscati Hospital is an enclave of the Vatican. Located a few hundred meters from the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, which is the largest Catholic religious building in the world and whose appearance is reminiscent of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The Basilica was inaugurated 20 years ago by Pope John Paul II.

In agreement with President Félix Houphoüet Boigny, it was decided to build and associate with the Basilica a hospital offering 250 beds, a benchmark in West Africa for the modernity of its facilities.
